My role involves looking after all restructuring projects and monitoring capital expenditure. My main responsibilities include accounting and reporting for all restructuring projects so that we have an overall central control over all business changes within Europe. This means that I get involved in preparing proposals for senior management approval and making sure that all calculations are correct. I have to ensure that everyone involved are adhering to the correct accounting policies and there is a general awareness of the required procedures. I consolidate European numbers on a monthly basis and report these to ACCO Brands in the US, our parent company.
I really enjoy working on the restructuring projects as it is very different from the mainstream month-end reporting. There is always so much happening, which gives me opportunities to learn more. My past experience has been in Management Reporting and Analysis, working with Abbey National, Barclaycard and Accenture.
In the future I would like to work within a Business Unit, which is more commercially focused.
